How it works
The Virtual Fence dog containment system enables pets to roam freely and safely within a designated area without the need for fences, chains or kennels.
It gives pet owners peace of mind while being much more economical than conventional confinement measures.
Virtual Fence will stop your dog from: Running out onto the road, trespassing into the neighbour's yard, playing in the vegetable garden or flower beds, jumping into the pool or lake.
10 Fun sessions of 10 minutes each will train your dog. Your
dog learns the boundaries through training with the flags that are set
inside the fence zone. With training, the dog remembers the placement
of the flags and is taught to stay within the designated area. During
the training period, flags are slowly taken away.
The Virtual Fence training system has 3 components:
- A transmitter
- A spray receiver collar and
- The perimeter wire (buried wire around established perimeter)
The transmitter is plugged into a regular
household 120 VAC power outlet. It generates a low frequency radio signal
that is transmitted through the buried wire. As your pet approaches
the wire, the spray receiver collar will pick up the low frequency signal.
The light weight collar will at first emit a warning beeping sound to
let your animal know it has reached the boundary limit. Should he continue
on, the spray collar then releases a harmless spray, stimulating his
ultra-heightened senses: He hears it, sees it, smells it, and feels
it - and instinctively backs away. Once your pet is properly trained
he will learn to stay in the zone.
